Accept your reality
Say yes to what IS.
Stop trying to change or improve or annihilate the present. It’s all you’ve got. It’s all you’ll ever have.
Accept life without second guessing how it should have been. Allow it to unfold naturally.
Stop protesting. Stop struggling against the moment. – Scott Ginsberg
The quote above is from “Live Your Name”, a free pdf download available here.
There is a freedom in accepting reality. A release. A letting go. A relaxing.
For the longest time, especially in my late 30s, I fought my singleness. In hindsight, it only resulted in frustration, sadness, condemnation, and heaviness.
When I turned 40, I’m not sure why but that suddenly disappeared. Not that there aren’t moments of wishing it was different, but those are few and far between. There are many things I can do today because I am single.
What’s your reality? Laid off. Married. No family nearby. Health.
What if we stopped fighting that reality? And move, with freedom, into that reality. Maybe then we can embrace what is and move on.
How have you learned to live with reality?
