John Maxwell has a book out called “Everyone Communicates, Few Connect: What the Most Effective People Do Differently”.
I’ve been around a number of great communicators. I’ve been around a few people that also connect. The difference is huge.
One is short-term, the other long-term.
One can be motivating, the other deeply inspiring.
One can be enthusiastic, the other genuinely cares.
One speaks well, the other listens even better.
One wants to change you, the other wants to, well…connect with you.
One wants you to understand them, the other wants to understand you.
One can be distant, the other touches your heart.
One can make you feel small, the other lifts you up.
As John Maxwell puts it, “Connectors live what they communicate.”
What’s your experience? With communicators? With connectors? Which one are you?
