Education

Education. It’s not a noun. It’s not something we go do, then we’re done with it. It’s not over after high school, or college.

Education. It’s active. It’s now. It’s a lifestyle.

Education. It’s opening our mind to truth, to learning.

Too often, it becomes just the opposite of that. Instead of being more open, we become more rigid and less likely to try new things. I wonder if education is really helping at that point. If it’s not opening us up to new ideas, new thoughts – is it really education, or is it about becoming the authority?

When we’re done with education, we’re done with living.

Education means learning where we’re at. It means seeing things in a new way. It means looking beyond the surface.

It’s asking questions – maybe aloud, maybe not.

It’s noticing the flight of the bird as it performs the graceful air dance. It’s hearing the crickets as they serenade their audience. It’s tasting the burst of flavors at an Indian restaurant. It’s holding the hand of an infant.

Education is about an open mind. An open mind to accept new things, new ideas, even to embrace change.

Education keeps us vulnerable.

Education is a life plan for action, for growing.

Today I am going to learn more about being a landlord.

What is it that you are going to learn today? or observe? or ponder?
