“One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp. I just finished the second chapter yesterday. It’s titled “A Sanctuary of Time”.
The chapter spoke to me, just like the first chapter did. It’s one of those books where I feel like the author wrote it just for me. Ever experience one of those books? Maybe in a way, the Author does write books just for us.
As the title of the chapter suggests, its about Time.
Excerpts from “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp: (bolded are mine)
They say time is money, but that’s not true. Time is life. And if I want the fullest life, I need to find fullest time. How often does the busyness of life leave little time for the source of life?
Hurry always empties a soul.
I don’t really want more time; I just want enough time. Time to breathe deep and time to see real and time to laugh long.
When I fully enter time’s swift current, enter into the current moment with the weight of all my attention…I can slow the torrent by being all here. I only live the full life when I live fully in the moment.
Wherever you are, be all there.
It’s not the gifts that fulfill, but the holiness of the space.
Thanksgiving creates abundance. I am thank-full. I am time-full.
Life is so urgent it necessitates living slow.
I love that last one. Life necessitates living slow. What does that look like? Is it about the exernal or the internal?
I just spent the last 5 minutes watching the brilliant full moon set over the mountains as this day begins. It feels like living life slow.
How do you live life slow?
