Our Dreams

I see many people with incredible dreams inside of them—great dreams, purposeful dreams—but they get stuck. And in the midst of being stuck they give up a little bit of those dreams. Then they give up a little bit more and a little bit more till they become settled in ‘seemingly reality’. And, we all miss out.

You see, I think those dreams inside each of us have a lot to do with our purpose and why we’re here. Our dreams are like seeds planted inside of us meant to be watered and nurtured and grown—grown to fruition. Then, and only then, will we not only experience fulfillment within, but those around us will greatly benefit. It is my hope that this blog, through our discussions and interactions, will help all of us in the process of watering, nurturing, and growing our dreams.

It is interesting how over the years you can loose the dream… you’re not even sure what the dream was when you try and think of it… or if you can remember the dream you aren’t sure it still fits or if it is doable. Uncovering those dreams becomes a challenge as you have to shovel off the dirt of so many things that have piled up on your dream. So living in the “comfortable reality” often becomes the easier way to go… but the little nagging voice inside of you makes you wonder: What was I created for really? You know there is a purpose, a reason, a dream… and that is where the support system from others, is so vital. The system that comes and brings hope and encouragement… helping us to live life by design. Thanks for your passion to help this come to pass!

It’s also interesting when you NEED money for a dream and don’t know how to get it. Sure, you could find people who might have the things you need to get started and you can start the dream with what you have, or, like others you could pray diligently that God would provide the resources, then sit back and let Him move. It is frustrating when you can’t move forward with your particular dream, even when there is the occasional motivation, but no way to aquire resources. What, possibly, could be the hindrance?

Varlen thanks for sharing. When I read the word “hindrance” I thought of Joseph and his journey. He had this dream as a young boy that was so real to him… and then he faced so many things that seemed to be against him and diffused all hope of the dream coming true… all of the hindrances that stood between him and the dream… and then one day, I guess when God knew it was time, and Joseph had been equipped to do what the dream was — then all of a sudden it was there, and the dream unfurled as a flag waving full in the breeze. I’ve always wondered if the hindrances didn’t shape Joseph as he seems to keep letting it draw him to God even in the pain and rejection that he faced over and over. In our dream that God has for the Sanctuary, what a journey it has been, what hindrances we have faced over and over again, assaults on our character… but somehow God keeps moving us forward as we keep plodding on… when it is God’s dreams then He is the one who will bring it to pass… so we walk with our face towards Him, trusting Him to do what we cannot, and doing what we can. He is faithful… for Joseph, for us, for you. Keep moving!
