The Beauty of Chaos

Chaos gets a bad rap. And, often, rightly so. Yet, in the midst of living full out, I believe a certain level of chaos is necessary and healthy.

Without a tinge of chaos we have no unknowns, no mystery, no questions. In the absence of chaos, there may be too much rigidity, too much structure and very little freedom. No risk.

A bit of chaos brings excitement, adventure, mystery.

When I don’t have all the answers, there is freedom. When I don’t know what the next step may bring, there is adventure. When I live in the mystery, there is the need for trust and faith. Out of a bit of chaos, there’s room for beauty to arise.

Yet, too much chaos is destructive. That doesn’t need explaining. Yet too often, we want to eliminate all chaos. Instead of trying to eliminate it, what if we reduce it, if necessary, then embrace the rest of it.

What’s your threshold for chaos?
